You Can Have Faith and Still Admit You’re Tired

Some weeks do not need a motivational speech.

They need honesty.

This has been one of those weeks for me.

I have continued showing up.

I’ve posted.

I’ve created.

I’ve encouraged.

I’ve continued working on what I am building.

And behind the scenes, life has been happening at the same time.

There have been moments this week when I have thought:

This is a lot.

Not dramatically.

Not hopelessly.

Just truthfully.

It is a lot.

Showing up does not mean nothing is happening behind the scenes

One of the strange things about social media is that people often see the output without seeing what it required.

They see the post.

They see the smile.

They see the encouragement.

They see you responding, building, working, or helping.

They do not necessarily see the moments when you have to gather yourself before you can show up again.

And that is okay.

Everything does not belong online.

But I do think there is value in telling the truth: showing up does not mean life is easy.

Faith and fatigue can exist together

I believe in faith.

I believe there are seasons when we have to trust beyond what we can currently see.

But I do not believe faith requires pretending.

You can trust and still have questions.

You can believe things will work out and still be concerned about what is happening right now.

You can pray and still cry.

You can be grateful and still tired.

You can encourage somebody else while privately needing encouragement yourself.

Those things are not contradictions.

They are part of being human.

I don't have the lesson yet

Sometimes there is pressure to turn every difficult experience into wisdom immediately.

Something happens, and we start asking:

What is the lesson?

What is the purpose?

How can I use this?

What am I supposed to learn?

Maybe there will be a lesson.

Maybe perspective will come later.

But I do not think we have to rush there.

Sometimes you are still inside the experience.

Sometimes you do not have the conclusion because the story is still happening.

And today, that is where I am.

I am still navigating.

I am still figuring things out.

I am still believing.

I am still doing what I can.

I simply do not have a neat ending to give you yet.

Today, leadership looks different

We often talk about leadership as action.

Decisions.

Direction.

Courage.

Execution.

But self-leadership also requires honesty about capacity.

Today, leadership for me is not about squeezing more into Saturday because there is technically time available.

It is acknowledging that this week required something from me emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

And I need room.

Not because all of the problems disappeared.

They have not.

Not because the responsibilities stopped.

They did not.

I need room because I am a person inside all of those responsibilities.

You do not have to perform strength

This may be the part somebody else needs today.

You do not have to prove that you are handling everything well.

You do not have to package the difficult season into inspiration before you are ready.

You do not have to smile through every part of it.

You do not have to call yourself weak because you need a moment.

And you do not have to abandon faith simply because you are honest about being tired.

Some seasons ask us to keep going.

Others ask us to slow down enough to keep going sustainably.

Sometimes both are happening at once.

So what am I doing today?

I am giving myself some room.

Room to breathe.

Room to feel whatever comes up.

Room not to fill every hour.

Room to trust that every unanswered question does not require an answer today.

Room to believe that the next step will become clearer when it needs to.

That is enough for today.

Not forever.

Today.

If your week has been heavy too

Maybe you have been carrying things nobody around you fully understands.

Maybe you are taking care of someone.

Maybe your health has changed.

Maybe money is tight.

Maybe work is uncertain.

Maybe your relationship is going through something.

Maybe your family needs more from you than you currently know how to give.

Maybe you are simply exhausted from being the person everyone expects to keep it together.

I do not know your story.

But I do know this:

You can have faith and still admit you're tired.

You can be hopeful and still say, “This is hard.”

You can keep moving without pretending the road is easy.

And today, you can give yourself room to breathe.

No performance required.

No perfect lesson needed.

Just one honest step at a time.
